  1. Eat regular meals to keep your hunger in check

  2. Try eating smaller meals more frequently, than larger, less frequent meals

  3. Never skip meals. This puts your body in starvation mode so it tends to conserve energy and burn fewer calories

  4. Chewing your food properly and eating more slowly will help you feel fuller

  5. Eating food with more fiber will help you feel fuller and make you feel less hungry

  6. Drinking one glass of water before your meal and one during your meal will help you cut down on calorie intake. Also drink half a glass of water before having a snack.

  7. When you feel like reaching for that soft drink, stop and drink water instead

  8. Weigh yourself once a month or once a week rather than everyday. There are lots of reasons why our weight fluctuates on a day-to-day basis and weighing yourself everyday can make you feel more discouraged with your progress.

  9. Be prepared to make lifestyle and attitude changes - become more active, exercise more and feel better about yourself.

  10. Find an exercise routine that you ENJOY and you're much more likely to stick to it

  11. Losing weight slowly rather than quickly is what helps to keep it off.
